A Note From The Author

Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the counsel of the Lord will stand.1

I would do well to advise you that several of the chapters in this book include adult language and descriptions that conceivably could adversely impact some readers. For their convenience these chapters have been identified by the symbol ≄ following the chapter title. That said, however, please also note that in my opinion the relevant passages in these chapters have been toned down to the degree necessary to placate most readers while, at the same time, also permit the Tales to remain grounded in truth.

Readers are further advised that artistic license has been employed here and there throughout the telling of these Tales. When and where appropriate or necessary, names, times and places have been changed and characters and events have been combined to serve at least one and sometimes two purposes: (i) to ease the flow in telling some of the Tales; and (ii) to protect the innocence or disguise the possible guilt of some who were involved.

By and large, however, the reader can be assured that all of the Tales I am about to tell are firmly grounded in true events that actually did impact the lives of very real people.

With that said, let the Tales be loosed.

You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.2
