Would Now be a Good Time to Declare Our Liberty?

Back in the day, the Declaration of Independence served two important functions. Of course, one was to give notice to a tyrant of our intent to dissolve our association. The other, however, was to unify—i.e., rally—the citizens of the 13 colonies around a platform of common ideas that would serve to both justify and strengthen their resolve to oppose that powerful despot. For Jefferson knew that without something like his unifying Declaration the colonists would soon find themselves divided, and thus, eventually defeated.

Why does this matter?

Because, today we are also confronting a tyranny, but one that is far worse than that of King George. To appreciate this reality, one would do well to carefully consider the words of attorney Harmeet Dhillon recently published in the August edition of Imprimis, in which she calls out the terrifying threats now being posed to all by our politicized Department of Justice. And like the colonists, we must either unify Americans around a common platform of ideas that declares our opposition to this tyranny and contain it now, or it will soon divide us, consume our ideals and destroy forever what remains of the nation we once were.

The question Ms. Dhillon leaves open, however, is whether it is too late for Americans to even speak freely—i.e., without any fear of retribution—about our opposition to this tyranny?

One litmus test to determine the extent to which our government’s present tactics have already impacted our right to free speech, would be for us to consider the following hypothetical.

Were Thomas Jefferson alive today, would he feel free—in the shadow of Biden’s “red wall speech”—to draft a document similar to his Declaration of Independence—like say, the following highly plagiarized Declaration of Liberty?

And even if he did … who among us would have the courage to sign it?

— A (HYPOTHETICAL) DECLARATION OF LIBERTY —

—   (circa. 2022) —

Part I — The Foundation

This document is to accurately set forth some of the current events that have caused those who have affixed their signatures hereto to firmly believe they could soon find themselves compelled to declare their freedom from the unlawful shackles of an illicit government.

As a necessary predicate for us to establish in the court of world opinion the legitimacy of such a declaration, the undersigned hereby commence by reaffirming the following truths to be self-evident:

·      All human beings are created equal;

·      All their lives matter ... including those of the not-yet-born;

·      They are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, which include the rights of all people to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness;

·      To secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; and

·      Such a just government must be one restrained by, in compliance with and submissive to both the Constitution of the United States of America, as amended, and to the divinely inspired Rule of Law upon which it was founded.

But, alas, that is not presently the case set before the people of the United States.

Those who are currently vested with all the powers of the United States government wrested that control unlawfully by means of fraud and other chicanery amounting to domestic insurrection, and thereafter have put in place an immoral train of abuses and usurpations that have only evinced a common design to institutionalize their tyranny in opposition to these truths. Which, regrettably, has caused us to the precipice of yet another ultimate truth:

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of the people’s liberty, it is the right of the governed to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government that is fit to rule a free people.

Part II — Our Grievances

To establish this need to replace our present government, let the following facts and circumstances be submitted openly to a candid world:

1.  The regime has weaponized its branches of law enforcement to:

Photo: Parker-Coffman

·      Persecute the regime’s political enemies for imagined crimes while wrongfully stigmatizing many of them as domestic terrorists and extremists;

·      Turn a blind eye to even the most blatant crimes committed by those sympathetic to the regime’s politics, causes and ideologies;

·      To conceal evidence that would have impacted our elections, such as the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop;

·      Ignore and refuse to investigate any of the alleged voting irregularities of the 2020 election that have been sworn to have occurred under penalty of perjury by hundreds, if not thousands, of affiants in a multitude of states; and

·      Ignore and indeed refuse to provide any judicial review of any evidence of the fact that election laws in a multitude of states were unlawfully altered in 2020 for the benefit of the regime in violation of Article 2, Section 1, Clause 2 of the Constitution.

2.  The regime has weaponized a virus to spread a pandemic of fear among the population that has served the regime as a false flag used to distract the public’s attention away from its election chicanery, and thus, cloak—and, thereby achieve—its unparalleled treasonous conspiracy to overthrow our constitutional republic.

3.  The regime has weaponized so-called social justice ideologies like cancel culture and critical race theory to untether this nation from its true history for the purpose of erasing both our culture’s virtues and to divide certain factions of our people against others based on, among other things, false allegations of systemic racism, which in turn were used by the tyranny to justify:

·      The tyranny’s promotion and defense of Marxist anarchists like ANTIFA and BLM to threaten its opponents with the violence of mob rule;

·      Defunding, dismantling and demoralizing local law enforcement officers and their departments across America while also attempting to seize our weapons to lower the public’s defenses against such mob rule; and

·      Allowing hordes of un-vetted immigrants to illegally storm our borders to dilute the voter base of patriotic Americans while also exhausting the funds and resources of their communities.

4.  The regime has weaponized its sympathizers embedded in the mainstream media and big tech/social media companies to disseminate its propaganda, and at the same time, to also censor and silence all those who are found to be in opposition to both the regime’s tyranny and its propaganda.

Part III — The Remedies

Therefore, to restore domestic tranquility, the undersigned hereby demand that all who are blessed by We the People with the privilege of governing this nation shall forthwith do all that is necessary and appropriate to:

·      Restore the integrity of our nation’s borders to permit only immigrants in the future who enter lawfully and are committed to defending our Constitution;

·      Protect all our children from drugs, gender altering procedures, pedophilia, trafficking and errant historical narratives opposed to the Constitution;

·      Ensure the rights of parents to protect their children from such abuses and to restore their rights to guide and control their children’s upbringing and education;

·      Encourage state legislators to enact policies and procedures that will ensure transparent election integrity, and thereby, restore the people’s confidence in all future elections;

·      Terminate all efforts by our government to infringe upon any and all unalienable rights that have been bestowed upon We the People, not from any government, but from our Creator; and

·      Reaffirm, without reservation, that the Rule of Law and the Constitution, as amended, are and shall be the lodestars that will unfailingly both guide and constrain our newly installed government.

Part IV — The Conclusion

If the foregoing demands are not met, the undersigned hereby declare that they will be required to absolve themselves from any allegiance to any regime that would defy these principled objectives. And so, with a firm reliance on divine Providence, we declare our commitment to do all that is necessary, lawful and peaceful to replace any such tyrannical regime with a government that will comply with these demands—in both word and deed—in order to restore, protect and preserve the liberty of We the People.

Come to think of it … perhaps the better question such a hypothetical document might want to leave us with today is … not whether we would be willing to sign it … but should we be willing to vote for any politician seeking office today who would not sign it?
